PortugalโThe mighty Boracay Ulti Mate has won a bronze medal in the Mixed Division of the World Beach Ultimate Club Championships now held in Portimao, Portugal.
Malay Councilor Junthir Flores, told the Boracay Island News Network (BINN) that they won the bronze medal as they competed against the strong contender Guayota, Spain.4. The said competition started October 14 and ended October 19.
Aside from Flores, last termer Councilor Daligdig Yap Sumndad, the committee chair on tourism also saw action in the entire competition.
The Philippine Flying Disc Association has congratulated the Frisbee team from Boracay. The Boracay Flying Disc Association immediately announced their feat as soon as the results of the intense competition were made known.
Last year, the team Boracay Ulti Mate made it big as they won a silver medal in the same annual event held in California, USA.
At least 54 teams coming from all over the world participated in the said sports competition. The Beach Ultimate is a global fast growing and exciting sport. Teams of 5 players try to score points by receiving the flying disc (Frisbeeโข) in the endzone of the opponent (similar to American Football).
