Aklan province signed a MOA with Topline to ease travel for tourists

KALIBO, Aklan—The Aklan provincial government, led by Aklan Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores, signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Topline, a Cebu-based digital company, on Tuesday.
Miraflores led the signing together with Atty. Selwyn Ibarreta, the provincial administrator; Topline President Eugene Erick Lim, First Vice President and CEO Atty Constance Marie Lim, and Bridgette Carmel Lim the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the company.
Miraflores said the Topline will install digital facilities at the Caticlan Jetty Port this April to urge tourists to pay unified Boracay-mandated fees to ease travel. Among these fees are the terminal fee (P100) each, environmental fees (P150 for domestic and P300 for foreign), and a motorboat banca at P50 one way.
“We met the Topline executives two years ago in a meeting with Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco in Boracay. Since then they have prepared an unsolicited proposal leading to the signing of MOA now,” Miraflores said.
Esel Flores, the Caticlan Jetty Port administrator said Boracay has two digital app for the unified ticketing system now the Boracay IPass launched in December 2024.
“Both systems are still optional for tourists as they still have to decide whether to use their respective systems or fall in line at the jetty port,” Flores said.
