Capiztahan 2026 Familiarization Tour Showcased Local Heritage

Roxass City- The Department of Tourism Region VI highlighted Capiz’s vibrant cultural heritage during Capiztahan 2026 through a dynamic familiarization tour that brought together media representatives and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). This strategic initiative enhanced the province’s visibility, strengthened tourism partnerships, and underscored Capiz’s distinct cultural identity.

From April 17-18, 2026, participants embarked on curated experiences across some of Capiz’s most notable attractions. The itinerary featured immersive visits to the Capiz Ecology Park & Cultural Village, Sta. Monica Church and the iconic Panay Bell, the Roxas City Heritage Zone, and the serene Palina Greenbelt Ecopark. Culinary heritage took center stage with the Surambaw Seafood Feast and the vibrant Maragtas Street Market, offering a taste of Capiz’s rich gastronomic traditions.

The program also highlighted local enterprise through the Negosyo Capizeño Trade Fair, while the Maragtas sang Capisnon Cultural Performances brought history to life, celebrating the enduring spirit and stories of the Capisnon people.

DOT Region VI Regional Director Crisanta Marlene P. Rodriguez emphasized that by championing authentic cultural narratives and fostering strong collaboration among local government units, national agencies, and media partners, Western Visayas continues to solidify its position as a premier destination for cultural and heritage tourism.

The Capiztahan 2026 Familiarization Tour was organized by DOT Region VI in partnership with the Capiz Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office.
