Cheers and tears (of hope) highlights New Washington Inaugurals

NEW WASHINGTON, Aklan- Cheers and tears of hope highlight the inaugurals at New Washington, Aklan signalling a new era of hope among thousands of their residents.

The inauguration was led by mayor-elect Jessica Panambo who is expected to reign for three years beginning July 1. Also inducted into office was Panambo’s vice mayoralty candidate Molot Quimpo.

Also inducted were five of their councilors.

Panambo won by more than a hundredth votes against incumbent mayor Shimonette Peralta Francisco during the recent May 2022 national and local elections.’

In her speech, Panambo vowed not to tolerate corruption during her term. She also promised to turn the town into a magical one emphasizing the swift developments and growth.

The new mayorย  also vowed to work on economic and health improvements among the residents.

“Please note that my service only meant not to those who voted for me but for every resident of this town tried reaching out to the other party to thank them for all of their efforts for the welfare of New Washington,” she said.

During her speech, Panambo received cheers several times from hundredths of residents attending the inauguration at the New Washington Park. Many residents also went teary eyed listening to her speech.

Second district congressman Teodorico Haresco commends Panambo for her anti corruption advocacy as this would mean a good economic indicator to the improvement of New Washington.

“Even Though I am in the second district I will support mayor Panambo if she needs my help anytime,” Haresco said.
