KALIBO, Aklan- As Kalibo prepares for the highly anticipated Ati-Atihan Festival, Vice Mayor Dr. Cynthia dela Cruz has issued a call for vigilance in maintaining good sanitation and health practices. “Amid the excitement of Ati-Atihan, we must remain mindful of the health risks associated with overcrowding and the colder season,” Dr. dela Cruz said. “Proper handwashing, eating well-cooked food, wearing of face masks, and using designated public toilet facilities are simple yet vital steps to keep ourselves and others safe.”

The Vice Mayor highlighted that the cold season often brings a surge in infectious and viral diseases, particularly in crowded areas. She urged both locals and visitors to report any cases of unusual illnesses or infections to the proper health authorities promptly.

The recently inaugurated public toilet facilities at Pastrana Park, built to ASEAN Public Toilet Standards, are part of Kalibo’s ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
