DSWD6 releases 60k cash aid to Hamtic bus accident victims

Iloilo City – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI releases a total of P60,000 financial assistance to the victims of the recent vehicular crash in Hamtic, Antique.

The tragic accident left 18 people dead and 10 others injured. Of the 10 survivors, 6 remain in critical condition in a hospital in Iloilo City while the 4 others were already in stable condition. (Source: Hamtic LDRRMO as of 1:15 pm, 7 Dec 2023)

Through the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS), the families of six victims confined in Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) already claimed their financial assistance amounting to Php10,000 each.

The agency has coordinated with concerned Local Social Welfare and Development Offices (LSWDOs) for the release of financial assistance to other victims of the road accident.

DSWD6 also conducts further assessment to determine other assistance needed by the victims and their families./rjlhilario
