Davao City, Philippines – The Kiwanis Philippine Southern District proudly marked its 50th District Convention on September 6–8, 2025 at the Grand Regal Hotel, Davao City. With the theme “Honoring the Past, Building the Future: 50 Years of Leadership and Service to Children,” the convention gathered delegates and leaders from across the district to celebrate a golden legacy of volunteerism while preparing for the next 50 years of service.

Leadership and Distinguished Guests

The event was hosted under the leadership of District Governor James Edwin Go, who emphasized that the past 50 years were built on unwavering commitment to children, while the future demands stronger partnerships and innovative service.

The Governor’s Gala Night was graced by Vice President Sara Duterte as Keynote Speaker. She lauded Kiwanis for its enduring contribution to child-centered programs, community development, and volunteer-driven impact.

The Opening Night featured Senator Bong Go and Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa, both Davao leaders, who inspired delegates to continue strengthening civic work and embodying the spirit of service.

Passing the Torch: 2025–2026 Leadership Team

One of the highlights of the convention was the presentation of the 2025–2026 leadership team by District Governor-Designate Danilo Fernandez of Division 2C. Fernandez also proudly announced that Boracay Island will host the 2026 District Convention, putting Division 2C at the forefront of the district’s next chapter and bringing global attention to Aklan as a world-class convention destination.

50 Years of Advocacy and Service

Over the past five decades, the Kiwanis Philippine Southern District has championed programs on education, nutrition, child health, and community resilience. Clubs under Division 2C—especially in Kalibo and Boracay—have implemented projects such as feeding initiatives, scholarship support, medical missions, disaster relief, and youth development programs.

The golden jubilee served not only as a celebration of past achievements but also as a renewed call for service. It reaffirmed Kiwanis’ guiding principle:
“Improving the world, one child and one community at a time.”

Looking Ahead

With Boracay set to host the 2026 District Convention, Division 2C is poised to showcase its leadership and advocacy on an even bigger stage. The Philippine Southern District, strengthened by its history and inspired by its mission, looks forward to the next 50 years of meaningful service to children.
