
Iloilo City- While most families are busy packing for their holiday vacations, the Land Transportation Office – Region VI (LTO-6) is gearing up for a different kind of mission: ensuring every traveler gets home safely for Christmas.
Ahead of the festive rush, LTO-6 law enforcers and deputized personnel have finalized deployment plans for Oplan Biyaheng Ayos! โPASKO 2025,โ a nationwide enforcement and assistance campaign running from Dec. 20, 2025 to Jan. 4, 2026.
Led by the Regional Law Enforcement Section (RLES) under Ms. Relin B. Reyes, with Shiela Mae Alulod, the coordination meeting mapped out personnel schedules and operational strategies to manage the expected surge of holiday travelers.
Under the supervision of Regional Director Atty. Gaudioso P. Geduspan II and Assistant Regional Director Jeck D. Conlu, enforcement teams will conduct terminal inspections in major Iloilo City terminals and seaport inspections across the province to ensure the roadworthiness and safe operation of public utility vehicles.
LTO-6 personnel will also be deployed for roadside inspections, traffic direction and control, and inspection and visitation of airports and seaports, reinforcing safety at key transport hubs. To directly assist commuters, LTO Public Assistance Desks will be established in major terminals throughout the region.
As part of its advocacy push, LTO-6 will distribute also Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials highlighting vital road safety laws, including the Seat Belts Use Act (RA 8750), Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act (RA 10586), and the Childrenโs Safety in Motor Vehicles Act (RA 10666), among others.
The holiday operation aims to ensure the roadworthiness of public utility vehicles, prevent road crashes, promote responsible road user behavior, and guarantee a safe, comfortable, and efficient journey for the commuting public throughout the Christmas and New Year season.
