A tourist approached me and asked, “Where are the public beaches where we can relax and have fun?”
You can stroll around the island and check out Anse Severe Beach, Anse Banane, and Grand Anse (Grenada). These are public beaches you can visit and enjoy drinks, sunbathing, swimming, and even a nap. (Bring a towel or any cloth to lie down on. Don’t forget some books, too!)
However, it will take you some time to get there. The nearest and most famous beach where you can truly relax is Anse Source d’Argent. There is an entrance fee of 150 rupees per person for a whole-day experience.
Again, she asked, “Why is it famous?”
I simply said that it’s famous because of its amazing granite formations, kayaking and snorkeling activities, and a relaxing swimming area for everyone who loves the beach.
To make sure I gave the tourist the correct information, I searched online to find out why it’s famous here in Seychelles.
I discovered that this part of the island is the main setting for the movie Cast Away. It’s about a FedEx delivery guy who was in a storm accident while delivering goods. He stayed there for years and tried everything he could to get back to his family and the love of his life. Sadly, when he returned, his love had married another man and was living with their child.
The best part? He had retained a delivery box, and when he returned, he delivered it and was directed to his new love interest.
