
Boracay Island– The Site Task Group for Community Relations joined forces with the Department of the Interior and Local Government Central Office team to conduct a community engagement activity with the Muslim community in Sitio Ambulong, Barangay Manoc-Manoc, Malay, Aklan earlier today.
The initiative brought together DILG representatives Mr. Jojimar Bagunu and Ms. Ma. Angelica Lyca Larong, along with Hon. Danilo Delos Santos, Punong Barangay of Manoc-Manoc. They met with Mohammad Faisal P. Arumpac, President of the Western Muslim Community, and members of the community to address local concerns and promote safety and security awareness.
During the gathering, information, education, and communication materials were distributed to help residents prepare for the upcoming ASEAN Senior Economic Officials’ Meeting 2026. The activity aimed to strengthen partnerships between the Muslim community, government agencies, and local leadership, ensuring a collaborative approach to maintaining peace and order in the area.
“The engagement reinforces our commitment to working hand-in-hand with all sectors of the community to ensure that preparations for ASEAN SEOM 2026 are inclusive and responsive to everyone’s needs,” said PLTCOL Delos Santos.
Local officials emphasized that such initiatives are key to building trust and fostering a unified efforts toward community safety and resilience as Boracay prepares to host the international event.#
