Sea Turtle Hatchling Released

NUMANCIA, Aklan- Out of the 81 relocated eggs last October 25, 2023, only 73 olive ridley sea turtle hatchling emerged and released in the coastal area of Camanci Norte, Numancia, Aklan.

The LGU-Numancia with the ever supportive Municipal Mayor Jeserel T. Templonuevo and the Numancia Agri-Fishery Sea Turtle Conversation and Protection Unit, our Municipal Agriculturist Judy A. Gonzales, AT-Fishery Designate John L. Alcazarin, Aissa R. Amerila MENRO, OMA staffs, Bantay Dagat, local fisherfolks, together with our Municipal Tourism Officer Sir Leopoldo Sanchez, HRMO Ma’am Kristine Grace Q. Marabe, Numancia MDRRMO with Sir Arvin J. Tolentino and staff, SB Rafrell Joseph Ricafuente, Punong Barangay Jorell Maribojo of Camanci Norte led this releasing activity.

Also present in this releasing activity are Sir Alexys Apolonio-Provincial Agriculturist, sir Christian Deza-Sr. Aquaculturist and Grace-An Perlas-Aquaculturist II of OPA-Aklan, ma’am Fea Ricafuente-Instructor I of ASU Kalibo, Ma’am Korina Compao of BFAR PFO Aklan and representative from Indigenous People Congress of Unified Panay Inc.represented by Princess Doriedelle Onting.
