SLP association launches new store branch in Tapaz, Capiz

Tapaz, Capiz- In a bid to serve more Tapaznon with quality product in a more competitive price, Padayon Kag Mauswagon Nga Asosasyon (PAMANA) Tapaz, a livelihood association organized and funded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) launched their new branch of Community-Based General Merchandise at Tapaz Public Market in Brgy. Poblacion, Tapaz, Capiz.
PAMANA Tapaz, a recipient of Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) Program, coined their associationโ€™s name from the program itself, opened their first store at Tapaz Integrated Bus Terminal on September 18, 2024.
The association is composed of 12 SLP-organized livelihood associations from 12 PAMANA-recipient barangays namely Rizal Sur, Sinunod, Acuรฑa, Daan Sur, Katipunan, Buri, Abangay, Roxas, Aglinab, Lahug, and Nayawan who received Php300,000 livelihood grants each and established a demand-driven project, responsive to the local needs of Tapaznons who then agreed to a product consolidation strategy.
โ€œThe unwavering dedication and hard work demonstrated by the associationsโ€™ officers and members are making a tangible impact in the implementation of the livelihood project. Also, the assistance of SLP and Municipal Social Welfare Development Office (MSWDO) staff who are going beyond their duties is contributory for the projectโ€™s expansion,โ€ Josie G. Cambel, Tapaz-Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer (MSWDO), highlighted during the launching activity.
While according to Milagrose Palomar, Municipal Administrator who represented Mayor Roberto O. Palomar during the activity, the branching out of PAMANA Tapaz in a new location helps boost the economic growth of the municipality and they are looking forward to more store openings of the association in the near future.
Subsequently, the blessing of the associationโ€™s newly acquired delivery truck was also one of the highlights of the activity.
PAMANA is a priority development program of the Government launched in 2011 that supports the Peace Negotiation Track and
ย contributes to the goal of attaining just and lasting peace for the isolated, hard-to-reach, conflict-affected, and conflict-vulnerable communities (CVAs).
