Vice Mayor Cynthia Dela Cruz and Provincial Administrator Selwyn Ibarreta Welcome Converge Kalibo Business Center

KALIBO, Aklan- The Converge Kalibo Business Center officially opened its doors along 19 Martyrs Street, Kalibo, Aklan, on January 30, 2025, marking a significant step in expanding high-speed internet access across the province.

Vice Mayor Dr. Cynthia Dela Cruz, representing Mayor Juris Sucro, and Provincial Administrator Atty. Selwyn Ibarreta, representing Governor Joen Miraflores, welcomed the presence of Converge ICT Solutions, one of the country’s leading internet service providers, in Aklan. Both officials emphasized the crucial role of reliable digital connectivity in supporting local businesses, education, and public services.

Led by Mr. Junie Pama, General Manager of QDSI Converge Manage Service Partner in Panay, the company is committed to delivering fast and efficient internet services to both residential and commercial users. The expansion of Converge in Aklan aligns with the province’s vision of fostering digital transformation and economic development.

During the event, Vice Mayor Dela Cruz held discussions with company representatives to explore ways to enhance internet infrastructure in Kalibo. She encouraged Converge to take the lead in developing underground internet lines for improved service reliability and disaster resilience. Furthermore, she challenged the company to assist the local government in organizing and improving post and wiring connections, in line with the Bagong Kalibo initiative for better electrical and communication infrastructure.

Atty. Ibarreta, speaking on behalf of Governor Miraflores, also welcomed Converge’s investment in Aklan, recognizing its role in strengthening digital access across the province. He expressed optimism that Converge’s presence would enhance connectivity, boost local industries, and support government initiatives aimed at digital innovation.
