Bahrain – The Iloilo Convention Center (ICON) has been named “Philippines’ Best Convention Centre 2025” at the 6th Annual World MICE Awards, announced during the prestigious Gala Ceremony in Bahrain.

This recognition is a proud victory for Iloilo City, further cementing its status as a premier Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) destination and affirming its world-class capability to host international events.

DOT Region VI Regional Director Crisanta Marlene P. Rodriguez, who attended the awarding ceremony, said:

“DOT Region VI congratulates the Iloilo City Government, ICON management, and the Iloilo MICE Alliance for this major achievement as a MICE destination. This honor is a result of the collective hard work and collaboration between the local government, the private sector, and the Ilonggo community, together with the trust and confidence of all the organizations, delegates, and organizers who held their MICE events in ICON in the past decade.”

This prestigious accolade further strengthens ICON’s growing reputation, following its recent ASEAN MICE Venue Award 2024–2026 for the Exhibition Venue category. It stands as a powerful testament to ICON’s commitment to excellence, its state-of-the-art facilities, and the distinct warmth and hospitality of the Ilonggo people.

The World Travel Awards (WTA) and simultaneous World MICE Awards were attended by Undersecretary Verna Buensuceso and Director Zeny Pallugna, together with H.E. Gines Jaime Ricardo D. Gallaga, Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain. H.E. Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi, Bahrain’s Minister of Tourism, graced the occasion as host of the prestigious awards.
