3K Ilonggos avail jobs, digital financial and information literacy

PAVIA, Iloilo – Around 3,000 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries from nearby towns of Iloilo province and Iloilo City gained access to job opportunities and financial and information literacy during the Regional Partnership Summit on Livelihood and Employment held today at Robinsons Place Pavia.
Of this number, 1,235 beneficiaries availed of livelihood and employment opportunities, while 1,765 attended the Family Development Session (FDS) on digital financial literacy and the Tamang Tulong sa Tamang Impormasyon (3TI) orientation.
The job fair featured 56 employers in partnership with Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Iloilo, and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). Selected 4Ps beneficiaries will undergo pre-employment orientation with support from partner agencies to help them secure stable, long-term jobs for their families’ needs.
“Alam naman natin walang forever sa kahirapan kaya by connecting them to job opportunities, they can develop financial independence from conditional cash transfers provided by the government,” said Asec. Marites M. Maristela, CESO III, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Undersecretary for Conditional Cash Transfer.
On her part, OIC- Assistant Regional Director for Operations (ARDO) Katherine Joy M. Lamprea said this partnership summit is not just about compliance. It is about building self confidence, recognizing one’s own capacities, nurturing values for health, education and family, and sustaining dream to have a better future.
“This is one of the steps in linking you to real opportunities for employment and livelihood. Sa liwat, kami sa DSWD magabulig sa inyo transition from reliance on cash grants to becoming self-reliant, hardworking, and persevering individuals who can sustain your families with dignity,” added Lamprea.
Also, there are participating government agencies such as the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) that focus on the registration of PhilSys, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, TESDA, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and Philippine National Police (PNP), among others, that put up their Help Desk to address queries and provide assistance in accessing services./mgc
