“Padala para sa Kaluluwa: OFW Dollars at ang Mahabang Undas Break”

Oh Undas — that magical time of the year when the entire Philippines goes on vacation mode, and every taga-abroad suddenly gets a flurry of messages starting with, “Hi Kuya! Kamusta diyan? 😇”

While our kababayans in North America are busy at work — coffee in hand, battling the cold — the rest of the Philippines is on holiday fever. Cemeteries look like fiesta grounds, bus terminals like concert venues, and everyone’s either buying candles, flowers, or lechon. The President even made it official — an “extended National Day of Wellness,” a.k.a. pahinga muna sa trabaho, tuloy ang bakasyon!

At siyempre, the real hero of this season — our beloved OFWs. With the dollar hitting ₱59.95, families back home suddenly become financial analysts:

Tapos ’yung candles? Two hours lang sindi, pero ’yung Tanduay, hanggang kinabukasan pa. Undas na nga, lahat buhay na buhay!

And after the cemetery? Diretso sa beach! Boracay looks like EDSA on a Friday rush hour. Ang motto ng mga Pinoy: “Visit the dead, celebrate with the living!”

Celebrate life, honor the dead — pero sana walang dead drunk.!!
