Iloilo City- In anticipation of the ASEAN Summit 2026, the Department of Tourism Region VI (DOT VI), in partnership with the Iloilo City MICE Center under the Local Government Unit of Iloilo City, conducted two (2) batches of the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Training on November 11โ12, 2025 at Goldberry Hotel Iloilo.
Facilitated by resource speaker Ms. Angeles “Angie” Gabinete, the training convened MICE frontliners and managers from the hospitality and tourism sectors. This initiative is part of Iloiloโs broader strategy to deliver exceptional service to international guests and solidify its reputation as a premier MICE destination.
As a recognized MICE hub, Iloilo City is committed to showcasing Filipino hospitality through enhanced service delivery. The FBSE training emphasized the integration of Filipino values through the 7MsโMaka-Diyos, Makatao, Maka-Kalikasan, Maka-Bansa, Masayahin, May Bayanihan, and May Pag-asaโalongside guest engagement techniques using the GUEST and HEART methods.
To further strengthen service consistency across the local tourism value chain, DOT VI and the Iloilo MICE Center are set to implement two (2) additional FBSE training batches. These efforts aim to foster a unified service culture among Iloilo MICE Alliance members and transform the cityโs hosting role into a long-term competitive advantage.
