Cathy Symanski Calls on Kiwanians to Create Ripples of Impact for Children

Boracay Island- Cathy Symanski, International Vice President and President-Elect of Kiwanis International, delivered an inspiring message during the Governor’s Night of the 51st Kiwanis International Philippine South District Convention on September 11, 2026, at the La Carmella Convention Center in Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan.

Hosted by Philippine South District Governor Dan Fernandez, this year’s convention brought together Kiwanis leaders, members and guests under the theme “Waves of Excellence, Shores of Service.” Governor Fernandez welcomed the delegates and encouraged them to remain united in advancing the Kiwanis mission of serving children and communities.

Serving as Guest of Honor during Governor’s Night, Symanski emphasized that every act of service creates ripples that can positively transform the lives of children around the world.

A ripple may begin with one Kiwanian helping one child, but its impact can spread much farther. Providing food to a hungry child can improve health and learning. Supporting education can build confidence and create opportunities. Offering care and encouragement can bring hope not only to a child but also to the child’s family and community.

Symanski reminded delegates that no act of service is too small. When Kiwanians work together, individual acts of compassion become powerful waves of positive change. One club project can inspire more volunteers, strengthen partnerships and encourage other communities to respond to the needs of children.

Her message reflected the convention’s theme. Like ripples moving across the water toward distant shores, the work of Kiwanis crosses borders and connects people through a shared commitment to serve the children of the world.

Under the leadership of Governor Fernandez and Conference Chairman PLG Ramel Boncalan, the convention became a celebration of fellowship, leadership and renewed dedication to service.

The message of Governor’s Night was clear: one caring action may appear small, but when multiplied through collective service, it can create a lasting impact—one child, one family and one community at a time.
