The Bureau of Immigration (BI) Intelligence Division arrested four foreign nationals in three separate operations in Rizal, Quezon City, and Mandaluyong City on September 7 for various violations of Philippine immigration laws.
The operations were conducted pursuant to the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strictly enforce immigration and other relevant laws.
According to BI Intelligence Division Chief Fortunato S. Manahan Jr., the first operation was conducted in Cainta, Rizal, pursuant to Mission Order No. 2026-324 issued on September 4.
Arrested were Lamber Singh, 43, and Ranjodh Singh, 27, both Indian nationals. Lamber allegedly fraudulently acquired a resident visa, while Ranjodh failed to present valid immigration documents and was deemed an undocumented alien. Both were reportedly engaged in โ5-6โ lending activities.
In a separate operation at Fairmont Park Subdivision in Quezon City, BI personnel arrested Kulwinder Singh Gill, 36, an Indian national, pursuant to Mission Order No. 2026-323. His visa had been cancelled, rendering him an undocumented alien. He was also reportedly engaged in โ5-6โ lending activities.
Meanwhile, BI operatives arrested Saeid Bahadoran Baghbaderani, 33, an Iranian national, in Sto. Cristo, Highway Hills, Mandaluyong City, pursuant to Mission Order No. 2026-325.
Baghbaderani was apprehended while allegedly engaging in gainful business without the appropriate visa. He was also cited for alleged fraud and misrepresentation in his previous work visa, undesirability, and failure to notify the BI of his change of residence.
Manahan said the three operations were coordinated with the appropriate operating units of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the respective areas.
All four were brought to the BI Wardenโs Facility and will remain in custody pending deportation proceedings.
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony M. Viado warned foreign nationals to comply with Philippine immigration laws.
โForeign nationals are welcome to stay and do legitimate business in the Philippines, but they must respect and comply with our immigration laws. Those who violate our laws will be held accountable and dealt with accordingly,โ Viado said.
The BI Intelligence Division said it will sustain intelligence-driven operations against foreign nationals involved in immigration violations and other unlawful activities. #
