BORACAY Island- A businessman now based in San Juan City, Metro Manila, has filed a disqualification case at the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to disqualify incumbent Barangay Yapak Captain Hector Casidsid.
In documents obtained by the Boracay Island News Network, Aquino filed a complaint on Tuesday at the COMELEC office in Metro Manila, saying that Casidsid was allegedly made a false representation at the COMELEC since he has already finished his uninterrupted three terms.

Based on the records of the COMELEC, Casidsid started as a barangay captain on October 25, 2010. He won his second term on October 28, 2013 and the third on May 14, 2017.

Prior to Aquino’s filing of disqualification, he said he had secured a document he had obtained from the COMELEC legal department regarding candidates who finished their three terms and were disqualified from running the forthcoming barangay and SK elections in October 2023.

According to the camp of Casidsid, they had yet to get a copy of the verified petition for disqualification filed by Aquino in Metro Manila. They said that they would let their lawyer study the petition before it could release an official statement.

Aquino was known in Boracay as the owner of the controversial Westcove Resort in Barangay Yapak, Malay Aklan.
