Boracay Island—The much-coveted film shoot on this resort island will finally have a special screening at the Citymall Cinema on January 5, 2025.
Marilyn Manila, president of the Bente production, said that the film “I Remember You” showcases the story of Isagani “Gani” Tenorio (played by JC Santos), who assumes the post of a manager of a microfinance-oriented bank amidst the challenges of the island closure and the COVID-19 pandemic.
“These challenges have taken a heavy toll on the livelihoods of the bank’s clients as well as the broader Boracay community, who rely mainly on tourism-related activities,” said Manila.
“Through this film, we hope to pay tribute to the hardworking and resilient people of Boracay, whose stories inspire its heartwarming narrative. The film was shot entirely in Boracay and some parts in Caticlan which became possible due to the collaborative effort of the microfinance community, local government units, and private establishments, the local media, and regional and national filmmakers.
At least two Aklanon teens were cast in the said full-length film.
