MALAY, Aklan โ€” In celebration of Family Week, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VI through its Social Marketing Section (SMS), conducted an Information Caravan yesterday here.

Led by Regional Information Officer Therese Fely A. Legaste, the SMS team re-introduced the agencyโ€™s key programs and services while distributed Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials to various sector representatives, including senior citizens, members of the Indigenous Peoples (IP) community, and Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries, among others.

A central feature of the event was an interactive information booth promoting the โ€œTamang Tulong sa Tamang Impormasyonโ€ campaign, designed to promote rightful information to counter fake news related to the agencyโ€™s advocacy, services and programs.

During the said event, highlighting the celebration was the โ€œSearch for Huwarang Pamilya sa Banwa 2026 which was spearheaded by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office led by its MSWDO Jerre Mae Prado where Information Officers Therese Fely A. Legaste and Montesa G. Caoyonan served as the judges, along with SWAD Aklan Team Leader Rovi Christine V. Gonzales.

In addition, Emilia A. Caballes, a Provincial Champion and Regional Second Runner-up for the Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya, was formally recognized during the activity for their role as a model 4Ps beneficiary serving as good example to their family, school and community.

The Information Caravan underscores DSWDโ€™s continued commitment to bring government services closer to people while empowering communities through information literacy and the right to truthful information.
