ALTAVAS, Aklan— A local philanthropist based here is offering the free use of his proposed underground pet cemetery for pets who have died.

Albert Manalo said he has recently applied for permits with the Center for Health Development in Western Visayas to obtain the necessary permits for his plan to establish a cemetery for pets.

“If approved, it will not only serve as a free cemetery for pets. I will also provide refreshments from my pocket for bereaved loved ones, “he said. The site, which is a 356 square meter lot, is located at Barangay Odiong, Altavas, Aklan.

“It is one of a kind Pet Cemetery surrounded by trees such as rambutans, lanzones, oranges, and coconut trees. I will bury your pets for free and provide free refreshments during the burial of my beloved Princess Nikki,” he said.

Nikki was a Japanese spitz dog who died of a heart attack in January 2019.

“This is exclusively for Altavasnon Furbabies. It is free to bury your furbabies here. Another project of VILLA ALBERT. Let’s make Altavas always the FIRST!” he quipped.
