POPDEV honors Aklan Population and Gender Office
๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ข๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ฌ โ Franklin L. Quimpo, the Provincial Population Officer of Aklan, received three certificates of recognition at the Population Development (PopDev) Awards held at SMX Bacolod City on March 11, 2025. These accolades acknowledge Aklan’s significant contributions to advancing population and development strategies in the region.
Aklan was recognized for surpassing its targets in promoting Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (103% reached), Family Planning acceptors (420%), and engaging adolescents in Adolescent Health and Development (210%) for 2024, contributing to the goals of the Philippine Population and Development Plan (PPD-POA) 2023-2028.
The Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Region 6 also acknowledged the Aklan Provincial Population and Gender Office, along with the Municipalities of Kalibo and New Washington, for their commitment to localizing and implementing Population-Health-Environment Integration strategies.
Furthermore, the Municipality of Malay was honored with the prestigious Hall of Fame Award in the Outstanding Population Office category for its continued excellence in population and development programs.
The recognition underscores Aklan’s ongoing dedication to fostering sustainable development and improving the quality of life for its residents.
