PRO 6 awards exemplary performance during flag raising ceremony

ILOILO CITY – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) held its flag-raising and awarding ceremonies today, July 7, 2025, at the PRO-6 Grandstand, Camp Gen. Martin Teofilo B. Delgado, Fort San Pedro, Iloilo City, led by the Acting Regional Director, POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL JOSEFINO D. LIGAN.
Prosecutor II Flosemer Chris I Gonzales, Chairperson, Legal Cooperation Cluster 6/ JFLAT RTF-ELCAC 6 was the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the ceremony.
As highlights, seven police officers for Individual Category and four teams for Team Category were awarded with the PNP Efficiency Medal (Medalya ng Kasanayan) in recognition of their exemplary performance during the 4th Regional Director’s Cup held on June 17-22, 2025, at Camp Gen. Martin Teofilo B. Delgado, Fort San Pedro, Iloilo City Firing Range.
The awardees for individual category were:
Police Colonel Kim P Legada, Champion for Senior Police Commisioned Officer (PCO) Category;
Police Major Joey C Mara; Champion for Junior PCO Category;
Police Senior Master Sergeant Ryan D Descalzota, Champion for Senior Police Non-Commisioned Officer (PNCO) Category and the overall Champion of the 4th RD’s Cup;
Police Corporal Oscar J Sumergido, Champion for Junior PNCO Category;
Police Lieutenant Colonel Lindley T Barrientos, Champion for PCO Lady Shooter Category;
Police Senior Master Sergeant Sherry Anne A Silverio, Champion for PNCO Lady Shooter Category; and
Non-Uniformed Personnel Sheryl F Hurtada, Champion for NUP Lady Shooter Category.
Additionally, the awardees for team category were:
The Regional Headquarters Support Unit 6 as Champion for the Regional Headquarters Level;
The Aklan Police Provincial Office, Champion for the Police Provincial and City Police Office Level;
Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, Champion for Mobile Forces Level; and
Police Security Protection Unit 6, Champion for Regional Support Unit Level.
Prosecutor II Flosemer Chris I. Gonzales personally pinned the medals and handed over the plaques of recognition during the awarding ceremony.
In his message, Prosecutor Gonzales congratulated the awardees and underscored the importance of continued collaboration and commitment among all stakeholders in the pursuit of lasting peace in Western Visayas.
“It is my prayer and my fervent hope that we will continue to work together until every last NPA member and their supporters are neutralized and Western Visayas shall have attained a just and lasting peace,” he said.
He also reminded the personnel of PRO6 to remain steadfast in their duty, to uphold the highest standards of public service, and above all, to be good citizens.
Another key highlight of the event was the live simulation exercises demonstrating the 5-minute response protocol, aligned with the core pillars of the Chief, PNP, PGEN NICOLAS D TORRE III. The simulation took place immediately after the ceremony.
PBGen Ligan personally assessed the operational readiness of the Iloilo City Police Office and the Malay Municipal Police Station under the Aklan Police Provincial Office, specifically focusing on response capabilities in Boracay Island.
Both units successfully executed their simulated response in under five minutes, showcasing their high level of preparedness and commitment to maintaining peace and security within their respective areas of responsibility.
The activity was attended by the PRO-6 Command Group, Regional and Personal Staff, Chiefs of National Support Units, and other PRO-6 personnel.
