Rate Decrease Continue to Benefit AKELCO Consumers

Good news! For several months now, power rate per kilowatt hour continue to decrease. For Residential consumers with monthly electric consumption of 21kwh-up, power rate is ₱11.614 /kwh.; for Low Voltage Consumers electricity consumption is being charged at the rate of₱10.6646/kwh; and for High Voltage power rate is ₱9.2514/kwh.

In total, since month of April 2023, there has been a decrease of ₱2.6673/kwh. The main factor that directly affects our monthly power rate is the Generation Charge, which is one of the main component of the power rate being billed monthly for the power we bought from the generation companies including Wholesale Electricity Stock Market (WESM).

AKELCO charges Distribution, Supply and Metering System Charge (DSM), on the other hand, that are included in the blended rate, being utilized for AKELCO’s daily operation remains at P1.6109/kwh inclusive of EVAT. It has not increased since 2009. Except for DSM, AKELCO is only a collector of other charges and remits the same to the respective agencies.
