Reactions on Muslim Dedicated Beach in Boracay

Thing here is the lack of information dissemination from the proper authorities. The community and the public would have not presumptions nor guesses if the consultation meeting outputs during the planning stage have been shared publicly.
It is a wrong practice in Boracay that the public is always presented with surprises when it comes to policy placements. There should be more and wide involvement of the stakeholders. The community deserves to be on the loop on what’s coming ahead so that the policy makers could get public reactions and the pulse of the majority before coming up with a decision.
Malay and Boracay significantly need a proper Public Information Office!!
With the issue on that Muslim dedicated beach, it’s just a small cove in Newcoast. Boracay is surrounded with kilometers of beaches. That cove covers just around a hundred meters or so. It isn’t really a bad idea in my opinion. However the location and the exclusivity factor are what makes it not very fair and dodgy.
We know already the marketing strategies and measures of Megaworld in Boracay. That Lapus-lapus Arch for instance, they popularized as “Keyhole” is giving a public notion that they privately own it…and that everyone who wants to visit has to pass through their private gate — in which beaches in the Philippines should have a public access to all so that visitors don’t feel obliged to submit to the private property rules before getting to the public beaches. The Barangay council of Balabag and the Fairways/Newcoast should have arrangements we’re not aware of for closing down the public road access to Lapus-lapus. Then here comes this private cove again situated inside their property. Fishy fishy ✌️
We can just make guesses…until maybe the LGU of Malay decides to put up a PIO or hire a proficient Public Information Officer, or DMO.
I end up doing this job for them from time to time somehow…for free 😜
