Scuffle turned to stabbing, minor victim hospitalized

A 17-year-old victim was hit with multiple stab wounds in a scuffle at the housing project in Barangay Jugas, New Washington, Aklan, at around 10:00pm, last Saturday.

In a report by Carla Suñer-Doromal for Energy FM News, the victim’s father stated that the victim was simply on his walking on his way home in a dark part of the street when he and the suspect, a 19-year old, tried to provoke each other to fight.

A fist fight then ensued but the victim failed to recognize that the suspect was wielding a knife and what he thought to be punches turned out to be stabs.The victim received 6 stab wounds in various parts of his body, particularly in the head, the right part of his back, and on his two hands.

The victim is currently being treated at the Aklan Provincial Hospital while the suspect had been brought to the New Washington PN for proper disposition.
