When passion is no longer enough

Buruanga, Aklan – There was a time when teachers woke up every morning full of energy, ready to shape young minds and change lives. But lately, that spark is fading. Not because the love for teaching is gone, but because reality has become too heavy to carry.

Behind every smile in the classroom is a heart burdened with unpaid bills, empty wallets, and endless sacrifices. Many teachers give their all, yet go home counting coins, thinking about how to stretch what little is left until the next payday.

How can one continue to pour from an empty cup?
How can passion survive when it is constantly tested by exhaustion, by hunger, by the feeling of being unseen?

Teaching is supposed to be an act of love, and it still is. But love alone cannot pay rent, cannot buy food, cannot ease the worry of a parent who also happens to be a teacher.

So if you see a teacher today, remember this: behind that calm voice and patient smile is someone fighting quietly to stay strong, even when the world forgets to care.

𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙙𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙨𝙠 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙡𝙪𝙭𝙪𝙧𝙮. Only fairness, respect, and enough support to keep their light from burning out. Because when teachers lose their strength, the future itself begins to dim. 🕯️
