The Local Government Unit of New Washington Aklan expresses its deepest gratitude to the 30 volunteer drum and lyre bands from various parts of the province who graced the Silver and Gold Christmas Celebration with their incredible talents and dedication.
It has come to our attention that a malicious and baseless claim was made on Facebook, alleging that these volunteer groups were paid โฑ20,000 each to perform. We categorically deny this falsehood and strongly condemn the deliberate attempt to tarnish the integrity of our celebration and the goodwill of these selfless volunteers.
These bands, driven by goodwill and a shared commitment to our community, voluntarily offered their skills to join the celebration. In fact, they generously used their own resources to cover transportation and meals, all in the spirit of camaraderie and celebration. Such dedication exemplifies the true meaning of โPANAADโ (commitment), and we are honored to have had their participation.
We humbly extend our apologies to the bands for any inconvenience or distress caused by these false accusations. We sincerely appreciate your efforts and the joy you brought to our celebration, and we are deeply grateful for your understanding and continued support.
