Malay PNP Launches “KASIMBAYANAN” for a SAFE 2022 NLE

The Malay Municipal Police Station (Malay, Aklan) spearheads the launching of “KASIMBAYANAN” also known as “Kapulungan ng inyong Pulis, ng inyong Sundalo, ng inyong Bantay Dagat, ng COMELEC, at lahat ng Lingkod Bayan kasama ang Simbahan at Pamayanan” for a Secure, Accurate, Free and Fair Elections (SAFE) 2022 at Malay Municipal Police Station Headquarters, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan today, February 24, 2022.
The ceremony was participated by the different government agencies such as the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Religious and Community Leaders who share a common goal of a violence free and peaceful electoral process.
This endeavor aims to preserve and protect the integrity of the upcoming May 9, 2022 National and Local Elections (NLE) through Interfaith Prayers. This shall also serve as a venue to gather the stakeholders for their public declaration of pledge of commitment and collaborative effort for a non-partisan and non-violent election.
Present during the activity are: Rev. Fr. Jose R Relente, Parish Priest; Grand Imam Solayman Maguindanao, Asst. Ustadz Sobair or Ustandz Monib; Pastor Jimmy Medina, Chairman Malay-Boracay Pastors Group INC/Faith Based Lingkod Bayan Advocacy Support Group; CG LTJG John Manuel A Alip, Station Commander Phil. Coast Guard Caticlan, Malay, Aklan; Msgt. Joely Bert P Baron (INF) Phil. Army; Ms. Catherine Fulgencio, OIC MDRRMO; Ms. Ophel Tabanera, GM PCTV and PLT Romnick Tayawa, Platoon Leader 2nd APMFC.
This activity was first launched at the national level on February 3, 2022 at PNP National Headquarters, Camp Brigadier General Rafael T. Crame in Quezon City. Followed by the Police Regional Office 6 on Feb. 18, 2022 at Camp Martin Teofilo Delgado, Fort San Pedro, Iloilo City.
The program included messages from respectable religious and community leaders. It was followed by various symbolic activities which were patterned after the national level launch, such as the lighting of the SAFE candles, pinning of the SAFE 2022 pin and the manifesto signing of the covenant of peace to signify and foster solidarity towards achieving the goal of restoring the trust in the electoral process and ensure transparent, honest and peaceful election.
The event was also highlighted by messages given by Atty. Wilfred Jay E. Balisado; CG LTJG John Manuel A Alip; Msgt. Joely Bert P Baron and PLtCol. Don Dicksie L De Dios.
Attorney Balisado congratulated PRO6 for launching the KASIMBAYANAN. “It is indeed a moment to celebrate doing what is right and what is necessary during the coming election and it shows our enthusiasm and our commitment to have a safe, honest and fair May 9, 2022 election. I just hope and pray that with the launching of this KASIMBAYANANAN, we will be able to conduct a peaceful and free election in Panay Island and much more in the entire archipelago”, Atty Balisado said.
In the message of Police Lieutenant Colonel Don Dicksie L De Dios, he said, “The Malay PNP on its part assures each and everyone here today that we will be color-blind or apolitical. We will treat each candidate without bias or prejudice. If any of the laws and policies are violated, we will have no choice but to do our work: apprehend the violators and file appropriate charges/cases.”
The activity was concluded with benedictions by the religious Leaders and the subsequent releasing of doves at White Beach of Boracay Island that symbolizes hope and peace as the nation moves forward towards prosperous and peaceful life for its citizenry.
