With these words, Corporate Chef Franco "Panky" Lopez welcomes guests to TIMPLA, Megaworld Hotels & Resorts newest public culinary experience inspired by the Filipino art of balance.

To Filipinos, timpla goes beyond flavor. It speaks of balance between tradition and innovation, simplicity and sophistication, memory, and discovery. This philosophy inspires the evening, inviting guests to
experience not only remarkable cuisine, but also the stories, traditions, and warmth that define Filipino
hospitality.

On July 23, 2026, the Boracay Newcoast Convention Center becomes home to this one-night culinary celebration presented by Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, the Philippines' largest hotel operator. TIMPLA: MHR Food Festival also serves as the public highlight of the group’s F&B Conference, where culinary and food and beverage leaders gather to exchange ideas, strengthen their craft, and celebrate the future ofFilipino hospitality.

For one extraordinary evening, the culinary teams from 16 Megaworld Hotels & Resorts properties come together to present 16 signature culinary stories, each inspired by the destination, traditions, and communities surrounding the hotel. More than a showcase of signature dishes, TIMPLA celebrates the remarkable diversity of Filipino cuisine through regional narratives, locally sourced ingredients, and contemporary culinary craftsmanship.

Guests will journey through 16 interactive culinary stations featuring various regional cuisine prepared with slow roasted prime beef, lechon, fresh seafood, Maliputo from Taal Lake, goat kabsa, artisanal cheeses, heirloom rice, local cacao, tablea, seasonal tropical fruits, native herbs, and locally sourced produce. Familiar favorites are thoughtfully reimagined through modern techniques and paired with handcrafted beverages created exclusively for each culinary concept, offering a dining experience that feels both comforting and refreshingly unexpected.

What makes TIMPLA truly distinctive is the opportunity to meet the chefs behind every creation.

Throughout the evening, guests are invited to discover the inspirations behind each dish, hear stories rooted in family traditions and regional heritage, and experience how Filipino cuisine continues to evolve while remaining deeply connected to its roots. Complementing the culinary journey are specially curated cultural performances celebrating Filipino music, dance, and artistic expression, creating an
immersive evening where food, culture, and storytelling come together.

Beyond the food, TIMPLA also reflects the Sampaguita, Megaworld Hotels & Resorts’ signature expression of Filipino hospitality. Just as the flower symbolizes sincerity, humility, warmth, and heartfelt welcome, every chef shares not only a signature dish but also a piece of their heritage, inviting guests to experience the generosity, authenticity, and care that define the Filipino table.

Tickets are priced at PHP 3,500 per person, inclusive of access to all culinary stations, handcrafted beverage pairings, chef interactions, and curated cultural performances, making TIMPLA one of the most distinctive culinary showcases in the country this year.

TIMPLA takes place on July 23, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, at the Boracay Newcoast Convention Center.
