Gov. Miraflores Challenges Newly-Inducted Officers of PAFC-Aklan

KALIBO, Aklan – The Provincial Agriculture and Fishery Council (PAFC)-Aklan has elected its new set of officers for the 2026–2029 term, ushering in a new leadership committed to advancing the province’s agriculture and fisheries sector through stronger collaboration among farmers, fisherfolk, cooperatives, government agencies, and private stakeholders.
Leading the newly elected Executive Committee is Arnulfo T. Magcope as Chairperson. He will be joined by Ricardo O. Agravante Jr. as Vice Chairperson, Gina A. Diongson as Treasurer, Stineli Barrios as Auditor, Pilita Renacido as Secretary, and Jun N. Aguirre of the Boracay Island News Network (BINN) as Public Information Officer (PIO). Vicmae Macavinta remains as multi-awarded PAFC coordinator.
Governor Jose Enrique “Joen” Miraflores congratulated the new officers, expressing confidence that the council will continue to serve as a vital partner of the Provincial Government in strengthening food security, increasing agricultural productivity, and improving the lives of Aklan’s farmers and fisherfolk.

Your leadership comes at a crucial time when agriculture and fisheries remain among the pillars of Aklan’s economy. I look forward to working closely with the council in developing innovative, sustainable, and inclusive programs that will uplift our farmers, fisherfolk, and rural communities. The Provincial Government will continue to support PAFC in achieving our shared vision of a more progressive agricultural sector,” Governor Miraflores said.

The Provincial Agriculture and Fishery Council serves as the province’s consultative and advisory body on agriculture and fisheries, ensuring that the voices of farmers, fisherfolk, agribusiness stakeholders, cooperatives, and civil society organizations are represented in policy formulation and program implementation.
With the newly elected officers now in place, PAFC-Aklan is expected to intensify initiatives on food security, climate-resilient agriculture, fisheries development, value-adding, mechanization, export promotion, youth engagement, and sustainable rural development as it works hand in hand with the Provincial Government of Aklan and national government agencies over the next three years.
