Aklan Trekkers Represented in Timor-Leste Confab

Malay, Aklan- A resident of Caticlan, Malay recently went to Timor-Leste as a participant in the SEALI Advancing Agribusiness Digital Marketing Regional Workshop 2023. The environmental confab is held this February 27–March 3, 2023.

Cristina Daguno-De Joseph was one of the 50 youth leaders chosen to undergo the seminar. They learn about developing digital marketing strategies to expand agribusiness, food security, sustainable agri-tech, and digital businesses. She officially represented the Barangay Caticlan LGU in the said international confab supported by the United Nations.

Cristina was the secretary of Aklan Trekkers Incorporated, an environmental conservation organization in West Aklan. She was also among the key personalities behind the success of the group’s annual hammock festival.

Meanwhile, Aklan Trekkers Inc. is currently preparing for their hammock festival this summer. The purpose of the festival is to increase awareness about conserving the environment, touch lives, and develop resilient communities.

The first hammock festival held in February 17–18, 2018 in Jawili, Tangalan Aklan, was organized for the benefit of the children of Maytaraw Barangay Dalagsaan, Libacao Aklan.
