“Boracay United Coastal Clean Up 2025”

Boracay Island- The Malay PNP under the leadership of PLTCOL MAR JOSEPH B RAVELO, Chief of Police remain steadfast to its core value of Makakalikasan (environment-friendly) centered on respect for private/public properties and protection and conservation of the environment to maintain ecological balance.

On April 8, 2025, the Coast Guard Auxiliary Squadron 609 and headed by CAPT Claire Ang, Director, Auxiliary Squadron 609 organized a “Boracay United Coastal Clean Up 2025” activity with the theme “An Island-Wide Simultaneous Cleanup for Positivity, Positive People, Positive Energy, and Positive Environment” with the participation of Malay PNP personnel, PCG Auxiliary Squadron 609 Staff from different hotels Solid Waste Management Team Advocacy Groups Civilian Volunteers.

The cleanup covered the front beach area from Tree House to D’Mall, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan.

Others who participated included staff from various hotels and establishments, Solid Waste Management Team, stakeholders, advocacy groups, and other volunteers.

The activity aims to promote waste reduction and create public awareness on waste management and environmental concerns as well as to improve outdoor recreational activities of the community which is in line with Filipino culture of bayanihan. This also acknowledges the importance of cooperation in order to achieve the goals of the PNP initiative and also supports DENR in achieving the objectives of its respective mandates.
