
Iloilo City- The Western Visayas Gastronomy & Creative Expo 2026 officially opened today, January 19, at the SM City Iloilo Event Center. This week-long celebration runs until January 25, showcasing the very best of Region VIโs culinary heritage and creative ingenuity.
This landmark initiative, supported by the Regional Development Council (RDC) VI through Resolution No. 155, s. 2025, and the Economic Development Committee (EDC), serves as a strategic platform to champion local innovation and cultural pride. This yearโs expo is made even more significant as it highlights Iloilo Cityโs prestigious designation as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.
In her message of support delivered during today’s ceremony, DTI-6 OIC Regional Director Mutya Eusores emphasized that our Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises are the true backbone of local economic development. She reaffirmed that the Department of Trade and Industry remains a committed partner and advocate, ensuring that opportunities in the creative and gastronomic sectors reach every corner of the region.
Under the principle of “One Western Visayas, a Creative Western Visayas,” the expo invites everyone to experience authentic heirloom flavors, artisanal crafts, and the resilience of local enterprises that fuel our economic growth engine.
