
ILOILO CITY โ The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region VI successfully wrapped up its month-long Environment Month 2025 celebration with a
culmination program held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the DENR Regional Office courtyard.
The event marked the successful conclusion with the national theme, “Ending Global Plastic Pollution”. The event included inspiring messages from national and key regional officials; recognition of partners; mass oath taking of newly appointed and promoted personnel and awarding of prizes โ trophies, certificates and cash to the winners of the just concluded sports events composed of ballgames and Laro ng Lahi.
Regional Executive Director Raul L. Lorilla of DENR Region VI in his message, emphasized the region’s collective commitment towards environmental protection to continue working towards a
cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment for everyone in Western Visayas. This emphasizes a unified effort from the DENR and its partners to not only maintain, but actively
improve, the environmental well-being of the region.
Regional Director Cecilia L. Ochavo-Saycon of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Region VI, and Regional Director Atty. Ramar Niel V. Pascua of the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Region VI with ARD for Management Services June Melliza C. Garol led the senior key officials in gracing the activity with officials and personnel from the different PENROs and CENROs.
An inspiring message was delivered by DENR Assistant Secretary for Human Resources and Sectoral Initiatives, Hiro V. Masuda, Ph.D., CESO III. In his address, ASec. Masuda mentioned
the important role of the department's personnel, saying, โLagi niyo pong tandaan ang galing at lakas ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources ay lagi pong nanggagaling dito sa kanyang human resource (Always remember that the excellence and strength of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources always come from its human resources.โ
His words served to spark the passion of the personnel, assuring them that their dedicated contributions to the betterment of the DENRโs cause are invaluable and will not be in vain.
Part of the culmination program was dedicated in recognizing the efforts and contributions of the DENR Region VI personnel. The event also served as an opportunity to recognize and
appreciate the partnered stakeholders who have been supporting DENR Region VI’s various environmental programs and initiatives. The culmination isnโt about just awarding and
recognition but a celebration of unified initiative towards the betterment of the environment and its natural resources.
