DSWD6 releases 220k aid to bus accident victims

SAN JOSE, ANTIQUE- As of December 11, 2023, families of 22 victims of the bus accident in Antique were provided P220,000 assisstance at P10,000 each.

The assistance provision is under the Aid to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).

Of the 22 families, seven claimed their financial aid at the Malasakit Center at Western Visayas Medical Center in Iloilo City while 15 others claimed in San Jose, Antique.

The tragic accident last December 5, 2023 resulted in the demise of 19 individuals including the driver, conductor and two inspectors. Five remain in critical condition while four are already out of danger, according to the Hamtic Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

DSWD6 is coordinating with the families who have not claimed their financial assistance for its immediate release. //rjhilario
