Malay MPS Nabs Couple Over Liquor Ban Violation in Boracay

Boracay Island- The Malay PNP under the leadership of PLTCOL DAINIS O AMUGUIS, Acting Chief of Police, nabbed two (2) persons violating the liquor ban being enforced for the safe conduct of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) 2023 in Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan.

The couple who was the owner of a bar and restaurant and was arrested early morning of Oct 29 in violation of Liquor Ban at an establishment after failing to present a Certificate of Exemption from COMELEC. The PNP personnel warned and informed the said couple and staff of the bar and restaurant twice but ignored the said warning.

According to PLTCOL AMUGUIS, he sent letters to different establishment in the Municipality of Malay and directed his personnel to conduct roving to remind and warn the residents, tourists, and establishments regarding the implementation of the Liquor Ban.

โ€œWe remind the public that the enforcement of the liquor ban commenced from 12:01 early morning of Oct 29, 2023 up to 12:00 midnight of Oct. 30, 2023, selling, distributing, serving, buying, or consuming liquor is strictly prohibited during the liquor ban.โ€ PLTCOL AMUGUIS said.

The accused were brought to Malay Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.
