Six SLPAs in Western Visayas receive P1.8 Million Incentive Grant to Expand Livelihood Enterprises

Iloilo City- Six Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) in Western Visayas are set to strengthen, diversify, and expand their livelihood enterprises with a combined PHP 1.8 million Product Diversification Advancement Grant (PDAG) from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Each SLPA received PHP 300,000 to support the development and expansion of their livelihood projects, providing them with additional resources to improve their products, enhance their enterprises, and explore opportunities for business growth. The grants were formally awarded during the ceremonial turnover of cheques held in Iloilo City as part of the Handog ng Pangulo 2026.

The six SLPAs receiving the grant are the Calampitao SLP Association of Barangay Calampitao, Igbaras, Iloilo; Hilway Dos SLP Association of Zone VI Norte, Santa Barbara, Iloilo; Iglanot Rice and Feeds SLPA of Barangay Iglanot, Sibalom, Antique; Sibucauan SLP Association of Barangay Sibucauan, Tubungan, Iloilo; Sinuagan SLP Association of Barangay Sinuagan, Badiangan, Iloilo; and WOW Mambuquiao SLP Association of Barangay Mambuquiao, Batan, Aklan.

PDAG is an incentive grant for qualified SLPAs under the Usbong Phase of the SLP, designed to help them strengthen and grow their livelihood projects through product diversification, enterprise enhancement, and business expansion. The SLPAs’ qualifications for the grant were determined through a series of monitoring activities.

The incentive grants were awarded by DSWD Assistant Secretary for Community Engagement Ulysses Hermogenes Aguilar and DSWD Field Office VI Regional Director Joselito G. Estember, along with Iloilo Provincial Administrator Raul Banias.

The local government units (LGUs), through their respective Local Chief Executives, continue to support program implementation in their communities. Representatives from the LGUs of the participating SLPAs also joined the activity, including Batan, Aklan Mayor Hon. Michael R. Ramos; Tubungan, Iloilo Mayor Hon. Roquito Tacsagon; and Igbaras, Iloilo Mayor Hon. Atty. Vicente E. Escorpion, Jr.

Aside from the incentive grant, SLPAs in Western Visayas continue to receive technical assistance in business management and marketing to help ensure that program participants build sustainable livelihoods and secure a better future for themselves and their families./cdf
