A steady support behind SLP Aklan’s success
KALINO, Aklan- Behind every successful team is a person whose dedication quietly inspires others to do their best. For the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) in Aklan, that person is Mr. Willie M. Adrias, Provincial Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (PMEO).
For years, Sir Willie has been a steady source of guidance and support to the SLP Provincial Team. Many Project Development Officers (PDOs) regard him as their go-to person for technical assistance because of his patience, willingness to help, and ability to guide others through challenges. Whether reviewing reports, clarifying procedures, addressing program concerns, or providing technical guidance, he is always ready to lend a helping hand.
Beyond his monitoring and evaluation functions, Sir Willie also helps strengthen SLP associations by conducting simple bookkeeping and financial management training, equipping them with practical skills that promote accountability and sustainability.
His colleagues admire not only his competence but also the way he treats people. Through his quiet yet consistent leadership, he has earned their trust and respect while helping foster a culture of teamwork, learning, and support within the provincial team.
One of the most admirable aspects of Sir Willie’s journey is his resilience. Following the loss of his wife, he continued to carry out his responsibilities with professionalism and unwavering dedication. Even while facing personal challenges, he remained committed to supporting his colleagues and fulfilling his duties with the same level of care and excellence.
The impact of Sir Willie’s work can be seen in the strengthened capacities of PDOs, the improved quality of program outputs, and the continued success of SLP implementation in Aklan. From 2023 to 2025, SLP Aklan served a total of 8,318 program participants, including 5,348 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries, and facilitated the provision of more than Php 133 million in livelihood assistance. Behind these accomplishments is a dedicated public servant whose guidance, technical expertise, and commitment to accountability helped ensure that program implementation remained effective and responsive to the needs of the communities served.
His dedication to public service, commitment to helping others succeed, and unwavering professionalism earned him recognition as the recipient of the 2025 DSWD Regional PRAISE Gawad HUWARAN Individual Award, an honor bestowed upon Mahuhusay, Wasto, at Responsableng Lingkod-Bayani ng DSWD, and as the 2nd Best PMEO during the 2024 Gawad Sulong Awards of the Sustainable Livelihood Program. Through years of quietly serving as a mentor, a dependable colleague, and a steady source of support to the provincial team, Sir Willie has exemplified the values of excellence, integrity, and genuine public service that these awards seek to recognize.
Through his integrity, resilience, and quiet yet consistent leadership, Sir Willie reminds us that the true measure of service is not found in awards or titles alone, but in the lives we touch, the people we empower, and the positive impact we leave behind./cdf/Rizza Mae Hogar – WVSU Intern
