Love Boracay 2026 Opens, Reinforcing Island’s Global Tourism Standing

Boracay Island- Love Boracay 2026 officially opens today, April 24, 2026 at the beachfront of Epic Boracay, Station 2, White Beach marking the start of the islandโ€™s most anticipated summer celebration and reaffirming Boracayโ€™s position as a globally recognized tourism destination.

The event is spearheaded by the Local Government Unit of Malay under the leadership of Municipal Mayor, Hon. Frolibar S. Bautista, and organized through the Municipal Tourism Office headed by Dr. Felix G. Delos Santos Jr.. The annual celebration underscores the municipalityโ€™s sustained efforts to promote responsible tourism, cultural preservation, and international engagement.

Elevating the significance of this yearโ€™s opening is the presence of distinguished members of the diplomatic corps and international tourism officials. Among them is His Excellency Jing Quan from Chinese Embassy, Ambassador to the Philippines, Mr. Mohd Faizal Sharip, Tourism Attache of Malaysia to the Philippines, Hon. Huang Weiโ€”Che, Tainan ,Taiwan City Mayor, and Hon. Michael Lee, Deputy Representative Minister of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines, further emphasizing the strengthening of cultural and economic ties through tourism.

From the national and regional front, the ceremony is graced by Director Crisanta Marlene P. Rodriguez, Regional Director of the Department of Tourism Region VI, Hon. Jupiter Aelred Gallenero, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member of the Province of Aklan, Mr. Lysander Jaison Yang, President of the Philippine Travel Agencies Association together with his Vice President , Mr. Dominic Castillejos. Their presence reflects a cohesive and multi-sectoral commitment to advancing Boracayโ€™s tourism industry in both domestic and international markets.

Complementing the distinguished guests are local government officials, department heads, barangay leaders, and key Boracay stakeholders, events organizers, whose collective participation highlights the strong institutional and community support behind the event.

The opening is further enlivened by hallmark activities that showcase the islandโ€™s heritage and local talent. These include the Paraw Biniray , a traditional Paraw sailing competition organized by MASBOI Sailboat MPC, and the Sand Castle Making Contest led by the Boracay Sand Castle Makers Association Inc., both reflecting the creativity, resilience, and cultural identity of the Boracay community.

As Love Boracay 2026 unfolds, it not only celebrates the islandโ€™s vibrant tourism landscape but also reinforces its role as a platform for international cooperation, cultural exchange, and sustainable development.
