We love morning walks and we take pleasure grabbing breakfast at luxe places after. We’ve been everywhere in the island already as it is a daily routine. We have our favorite spots and favorite food selections. What’s not pleasurable about the experience is everytime we approach a five star hotel entrance—how security guards and frontline personnel interrogate your entry. “Interrogate” because that’s how it feels.
It’s not called “Filipino Hospitality”, it is “Filipino Scrutiny”!
Five star hotels in Boracay, why most of you are so hard at the main entrace for walk-in guests? You lose potential local visitors for doing that. Hotels in Europe and in other tourist places (even in Manila) are warm and assistive than scrutinizing. They just give walk-in guests a nod or a welcome gesture and they let them explore the property without scrutiny.
We should only resort to strict scrutiny at hotel entrances when there’s security threat alerts. But Boracay has never been on that status eversince.
BFI and PCCI Boracay, we need to get our 5-star hotel members reminded to be a bit soft and fluid in hotel entry for walk-in guests. We know some properties who are practicing proper ethics at hotel entry points, but we can as well enumerate 5-star hotels who treat walk-in guests like suspected terrorists. That’s not guest friendly. That’s not local friendly!
