3,623 Akeanon Senior Citizen Received DSWD Social Pension

NEW WASHINGTON, Aklan โ€“ The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI, through its Social Pension (SocPen) Program, successfully conducted a payout activity in the Municipality of New Washington, Aklan.

A total of Php 10,869,000 in social pension benefits was released to 3,623 indigent senior citizens, providing financial assistance to help ease their daily expenses, particularly for medicines and other basic needs.

Beneficiaries from the 16 barangays of New Washington received Php 3,000 each in cash assistance, representing their second-quarter Social Pension for 2026.

The payout activity was led by the Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) of New Washington through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), headed by Marichu R. Dantes, RSW, in coordination with the Municipal Treasurerโ€™s Office, led by Jerick O. Yacub.

The activity was conducted with the support of Mayor Atty. Shimonette P. Francisco, demonstrating the local government’s strong commitment to ensuring that social protection services reach the municipalityโ€™s indigent senior citizens.

The payout was monitored by Project Development Officer I Alyssa Dario and Social Welfare Assistant (SWA) Rubylyn C. Islao and the dedicated social pension staff, to ensure the orderly and efficient distribution of financial assistance to the beneficiaries.
