More Visayas senators urged

KALIBO, Aklan- Senatorial candidate Alex Lacson hopes voters could support more national candidates that are coming from the Visayas for the national position.

Lacson who hails from the Negros province was here February 15, 2022, to be part of the campaign sortie together with Presidential candidate Leni Robredo and Vice Presidential candidate Francis ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan.

“Right now, of the 24 senators, 18 are from Luzon, five hail from Mindanao, Senator Franklin Drilon who is representing the Visayas will finish his last term by June,” he said.

Aside from Lacson, other Visayas candidates vying for senatorial candidates including Labor leader Sonny Matula who is also from Negros province, Senator Risa Hontiveros and Loren Legarda of Antique.

Both Hontiveros and Matula are aligned with Robredo’s party. Legarda supports another presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos.

More Visayas senators are needed in the senate in order to fully represent the voice of the Visayans.

Lacson is a Filipino bestselling author of patriotic books, a poet, lawyer, businessman, civil society leader, and an NGO leader. He is best known as the bestselling author of the books “12 Little Things Every Filipino Can Do to Help Our Country, “Five Hundred Years Without Love”, and the poem “I am Filipino”.
