
The Aklan PNP Provincial Director PCOL CRISALEO TOLENTINO held a 1-day Tactical Combat Casualty Care Training and Medical First Responder Training to the Malay PNP, SWAT Team, and Maritime Group at the Malay HQ, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan said Sunday.
The training aims to enhance PNP personnel’s ability to respond to and treat both trauma and drowning injuries that they could encounter in the line of duty.
PCOL TOLENTINO himself gave the medical lecture that culminated in a simulated injury exercise, while the basic life-saving techniques were taught to Maritime Group for better response to medical emergencies that will help save lives.
Likewise, the SWAT team, as part of their security duties, simulated possible scenarios including active shooting, robbery/hold up, hostage-taking and bomb threats.
According to PCOL TOLENTINO, this activity is a great aid to the community that they serve and is a prime example of expanding capabilities together.
“Heeding the call of the CHIEF PNP, we will ensure the police officers of Malay whether it’s helping with Covid-19 safety protocols, implementation of safety and security operations, we can be truly relied on to serve and protect the tourists and the citizens of Malay.”
CHIEF PNP Police General Dionardo Carlos last Thursday ordered our local police to gear up their anti-criminality measures to ensure safety and security of both local and foreign tourists and protect them against perpetrators who will take advantage of the easing protocols.
On the latest IATF pronouncement, the entire province of Aklan along with Antique, Bacolod City, Capiz and Negros Occidental where among areas in Western Visayas placed under Alert Level 2 effective February 16 until end of the month.
