Malay Chief of Police POLICE LIEUTENANT COLONEL DON DICKSIE DE DIOS commended the men and women of Malay PNP for the successful apprehension highlighting the intensified campaign against loose firearms of one (1) individual at Bgy. Balabag, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan last July 1.
AL JOSEPH GUZMAN y DE PEDRO, 36 years old was arrested by the PNP personnel who responded to the call of a security guard of the Sun D’s Bar located at Sitio Diniwid, Brgy Balabag, Boracay Island at around 11:00 PM of July 1, 2022.
Recovered from the suspect’s possession was one (1) caliber .380 pistol with serial number 4044354 with inserted magazine loaded with four (4) live ammunition.
Guzman was charged with violation of section 28(a) of R.A. 10591 filled at the office of the Provincial Prosecutor through Inquest Proceedings.
PLTCOL DE DIOS expressed his gratitude to the public for supporting their fight against criminality and will continue to toughen its measures to include confiscation of loose firearms which can be used in illegal activities.

The accused remained under the custody of the Malay PNP pending the issuance of a commitment order to ARC for failure to post bail amounting to PHP 120, 000.00 pesos.
