Cebu City- More delegates and tourism stakeholders across Southeast Asia are expected to arrive in Cebu tomorrow, January 26, for the highly-anticipated ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) featuring a week-long series of policy meetings, activities, and discussions aimed at shaping the future of the regionโs tourism industry in the coming years.
Beyond conference halls and meeting rooms, the ASEAN Tourism Forum is also a platform for the Philippines to showcase its tourism destinations, products, and offerings to key members of the international community.
The Forum will officially open on January 28 in a formal ceremony to be attended by tourism ministers, national tourism organizations, and industry stakeholders.
Already, the DoT curated a tour program for more than 50 ASEAN 2026 delegates from the trade and industry sector, giving a peek into nearby Bohol province’ arts and nature.

Focusing on wellness and leisure tourism, the activity held Saturday (Jan. 24) was inspired by the Cebuano word “suroy,” a translation of leisurely strolling and mindful exploration.
For their first stop, participants visited Amarela Resort, an ASEAN Green Hotel Awardee recognized for its sustainable and eco-friendly practices. The resort also featured works by Boholano artists in its gallery, offering guests a glimpse into the provinceโs history and cultural heritage.
Enjoyable hands-on activities followed at South Farms, where delegates took part in coconut candy making and basket weaving workshop. The tour concluded with a farm-to-table dining experience showcasing locally sourced ingredients and traditional flavors of Bohol.
As part of the ASEAN 2026 regional meetings, delegates earlier attended the ASEAN Economic Ministersโ Meeting organized by the Department of Trade and Industry.
With its chairmanship of the Committee on Hospitality, Tours, Site Enhancements, and Events, the DOT has lined-up a year-long series of destination tours and experiences for ASEAN 2026 delegates.
