The Department of Tourism (DOT) congratulates the National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) for the opening of its newest regional component museum in Baler, Aurora.
Officially inaugurated on June 30, the NMP-Baler stands as a new cultural landmark dedicated to preserving and showcasing the province’s rich history and culture. It also forms part of the National Museum’s continuing efforts to make its collections, programs, and services more accessible for the communities across the archipelago.
NMP-Baler becomes the first component museum in Central Luzon, bringing the total number of National Museums nationwide to 22.
Visitors may enjoy galleries highlighting Aurora’s history, cultural traditions, biodiversity, and artistic heritage, alongside exhibitions that explore the Philippines’ historical ties with Spain and selected works from the National Fine Arts Collection.
Coinciding with the observance of the 24th Philippine-Spanish Friendship Day, the inauguration was attended by First Son Vincent Marcos, officials from the Philippine government, representatives of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in the Philippines, and institutional partners.
Beginning July 1, NMP-Baler will be free of access to the public daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
